This site was created as a resource for international health electives, and has since been expanded to include a variety of information, including local events related to global health, conferences, and more.  We hope the resources provided here will assist and enable residents to connect to both local activities and global opportunities.

The UBC Department of Pediatrics has a keen and long-standing interest in international child health, with many links to other parts of the world.  In the past few years, residents have gone to Australia, South Africa, Uganda, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Bangladesh, India, Belize, and Honduras.  The Department strongly supports residents to go on electives as long as they are ethically and educationally sound.  The uniqueness of our international programs attracts many trainees to our residency program from across the country.
